Our MissionBelmont Free Lessons is an independent, 100% student-run organization built on a simple idea: students learn best when they are connected with peers who actually understand them.
Founded in March 2020 to support our local community, BFL has grown into a broader platform where high schoolers can step up, design their own courses, and share what they know with younger students. We want to make learning accessible, engaging, and personal, bringing together instructors and students from across different towns and states. If you are a high schooler ready to design and lead your own curriculum, please visit our New Teachers page. |
What We OfferWe run free online classes and seminars that go beyond standard tutoring. Whether it's math, science, chess, writing, or advice on navigating the transition to high school, our programs are designed by students, for students.
We take our responsibility to our community seriously: every instructor goes through an interview process before teaching, and classes are actively supervised to ensure they are engaging and effective. Because we operate on Zoom, anyone is welcome to join our classrooms, no matter where they live. We are always listening and adapting to what our students need, so please contact us or fill out our testimonial form to share your experience! |
The teachers explained all of the material very clearly, and gave all of the students great background knowledge that will help them as they continue MUN throughout the school year. The conference was well run, and all of the students got to debate, share their ideas, and learn about different countries. |

Thank you very much for holding all the classes for the younger students at this tough time. I really appreciate it. This is such a great way to keep the younger students engaged in learning. |
