Course Description: Greetings, delegates! Model UN is a simulation of real diplomatic bodies—groups of ambassadors, legislators, executives, cabinet members, and more. It’s often hailed as a training ground for students to practice their public speaking, leadership, negotiation, and critical thinking, but it’s so much more: the socializing, within and without committee; the research; the travel; and the community have shaped who we are. In this course, you'll learn the basics of Model UN—caucuses, motions, resolutions, and more—from instructors with years of experience in high school competitions. After introducing Model UN, the course will present a mix of skill-based exercises and parliamentary procedure-specific lessons to prepare you for a mock conference at the end. Join us for a MUNderful time!
